Which Skottsberg board suits you best?
Whether you’re busy cooking or hosting an evening with friends, a Skottsberg board is always a good choice. Discover which board fits your kitchen moments best.

Chopping boards
The foundation of every kitchen. A Skottsberg chopping board offers a sturdy and reliable surface for all your cutting tasks. You can use it on both sides: one with a practical juice groove and one smooth side for everyday use. Thanks to the milled handles, the board is easy to move. Available in three sizes, so there’s always one that suits your cooking style.

Serving boards
Turn every moment into something special with Skottsberg’s serving boards. Each one is sawn from a single piece of wood, making it extremely strong, with milled handles that make serving easier. Every board has its own natural character and is available in four sizes: perfect for snacks, dinners and special occasions. And it’s a stylish eye-catcher on any table.
Our Wood Works chopping boards are made from end-grain wood, also known as end grain. In this technique, the wood fibres are positioned vertically rather than horizontally, meaning the cutting surface consists of the end of the wood grain. This not only creates the characteristic chequerboard pattern but also results in exceptional quality. End-grain boards are stronger, less likely to warp and gentler on your knives. They also have a self-healing ability: with every cut, the fibres part slightly and close again as soon as you lift the knife. This keeps your board looking beautiful for longer and ensures both your board and your knives last much longer.

Our chopping boards are made from FSC-certified European beech wood: a sustainable and responsibly sourced type of wood known for its strength and fine texture. Beech wood naturally contains a high level of tannin, a substance that prevents bacteria from spreading, making the board extra hygienic. It also has the perfect level of hardness: durable enough for intensive use, yet soft enough to keep your knives sharp. European beech wood is also highly wear-resistant and has a calm, even grain. So you’re choosing a board that’s not only practical and sustainable, but one that will stay beautiful in your kitchen for years to come.
Our serving boards are made from longan wood, sourced from the longan tree, which is usually cut down once it stops bearing fruit. Instead of using this wood as firewood, we give it a second life in the form of exceptionally strong, durable serving boards. Each board has its own natural character and grain, meaning no two pieces are ever exactly the same.

With the right care, your serving or chopping board will stay beautiful and hygienic. Clean the board after use with a damp cloth and mild washing-up liquid, then let it dry upright. Regularly treat your board with a natural oil, such as Tung oil, to nourish the wood and protect it from moisture. You can find more tips in our detailed article on how to care for your serving and chopping board. This way, your board will stay in great condition and last for many years to come.
In our view, Tung oil is the best natural way to finish your serving and chopping boards. During production, we already apply two layers, but it’s a good idea to reapply it occasionally at home. This keeps your board protected and water-repellent. But what exactly is Tung oil? In our blog, we answer the five most frequently asked questions.
