Lightweight cast iron

Complete your bbq with a cast iron pan

Why use a cast iron pan for your barbecue? A cast iron pan on the bbq is ideal for preparing food that cannot be placed directly on the grill or open fire, such as vegetables, sauces, pancakes or wraps.

When using a barbecue, what should you pay attention to?
  • Make sure the pan fits your bbq. Take into account a long handle with a cast iron frying pan. If it is too long, your bbq may not be able to close. In that case, opt for a cast iron braising pan.
  • Use our pan handle covers. When you put the cast iron pan on the bbq, the whole pan including the handles gets hot. Use gloves or our leather handle covers.

Can a cast iron pan be used on induction?

Yes. An induction field has an electromagnetic field. The cast-iron pan reacts to this magnetic field, creating heat. This reaction only occurs with pans made of ferromagnetic material such as cast iron.

What should you pay attention to, when using cast iron on induction?
  • Increase the heating level slowly. Some induction plates have a booster function, which immediately increases the energy level. A cast iron pan does not like this, so build up the heat gradually.
  • Keep your induction surface scratch-free. Don't slide a cast-iron pan on the hob but lift it if you want to move it.

Use your cast iron pan in the oven

Making a dish in the oven? No problem for these versatile workhorses. Bake bread in your cast-iron casserole or bake a cake in the oven with a braiser pan. You can also brown a dish first and then post-cook it in the oven.

When using the oven, what should you pay attention to?
  • Make sure the pan fits in the oven. Take into account the handles. Otherwise, opt for a smaller cast-iron pan.
  • Don't burn your fingers on the pan. In the oven, the handles become red-hot. Use our leather pan handle covers if you don't have proper oven mitts at home.

Go for quality and durability with a cast iron pan

Our cast iron pans are so strong that they cannot be broken if used correctly. Therefore, we also dare say, with confidence, that they last a lifetime. We underline this with a lifetime guarantee on all our pans.
