Resistant to heat and intensive use
The natural Tampico fibers are heat resistant and retain their cleaning power even when used on warm pans. They also absorb water well, allowing the brush to perform optimally even when wet. This brush is made entirely from plant based materials and is 100% biodegradable. No plastic, no microplastics, but a conscious choice for you and the environment.
How to keep your brush in top condition
Wood is a natural material and needs a little attention. Here's how to get the most out of your brush:
- Shake excess water out of the brush with a quick, sweeping motion after use.
- After use, place the brush bristles-down on a dry cloth so the water can drain properly. Or hang the brush up - this allows water to drain out through the holes rather than pooling inside.
- Do not leave the brush standing on a wet surface. The natural fibres absorb moisture, which then seeps into the wood.
- Do not dry the brush in direct sunlight or near a heat source. Allow it to dry completely in a well-ventilated spot between uses.
- Do not store the brush resting on its bristles. Store it in a dry place, preferably hanging or bristles-down.
- Occasionally treat the wooden handle with a little vegetable oil to keep it in good condition.
- Do not use harsh chemicals or bleach - these damage the natural fibres and wood.
- Replace the brush if the bristles become loose, damaged, or mouldy.
Small cracks in the wood can occur even with proper use. This is normal for this material and does not affect how the brush performs. A wooden brush may not last as long as a plastic one, but it makes your washing-up routine a lot more enjoyable. And honestly, it looks a lot better on the worktop too. The natural union fibres are firm enough to work loose burnt-on dirt from cast iron, carbon steel or stainless steel without damaging the surface. They spring back after use and hold their shape. No plastic, no compromise, just the right tool for the job. For stubborn burnt-on dirt, combine the brush with our Skottsberg chain mail cleaner for a thorough clean.
