The cast iron skillet is not only strong, robust and indestructible, it is also suitable for any heat source. By indestructible, of course, we mean when used properly. If you throw it off the balcony, you probably won't be able to use it afterwards. Avoid thermal shock, this way you will prevent the pan from cracking or breaking. So don't put a cold pan on full gas heat and don't put a hot pan under the cold tap. Actually quite simple right. The pan heats up slowly, but once hot, it stays hot for a long time. Great if your dish needs to simmer for a while. Because we have already given the pan a heat treatment, it has become more rust- and scratch-resistant. It is fine for cooking adventures on induction and can go in the oven. But if you really want to have fun: use the pan over an open flame.
Delivered with a cast iron lid
The cast iron lid features spikes on the inside. They are called 'spikes', although we think 'nipples' is also a nice word. These ensure that moisture in the pan cannot escape, but drips back onto the ingredients. This results in extra tender and juicy dishes.
Suitable for high temperatures
The pan is made from a single piece of traditionally cast cast iron: this way you also work your arm muscles a little while cooking. Cast iron can withstand extremely high temperatures and retains heat very well, making the Skottsberg cast iron frying pan very suitable for preparing all kinds of everyday dishes.
